Welcome to Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki. These Terms of Service explain the terms that apply when you book or participate in a Tarot reading, Distance Reiki session, or other service offered by Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki.

By booking a service, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms.

1. Nature of Services

Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki offers Tarot readings, Distance Reiki, and related spiritual and reflective services.

These services are intended to support reflection, insight, relaxation, self-exploration, and personal meaning-making.

Tarot readings are collaborative and intuitive in nature. They may incorporate traditional Tarot or oracle-card meanings, imagery, symbolism, reflection, and intuitive impressions. Tarot does not provide guaranteed predictions about future events or outcomes.

Reiki is a complementary, energy-based wellness practice intended to support relaxation and a sense of grounding or well-being. Reiki does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical or mental health conditions.

Individual experiences with Tarot and Reiki vary, and no particular result or outcome is guaranteed.

2. These Services Are Not Psychotherapy

Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki is separate from my counselling and psychotherapy practice.

Although I am professionally trained and credentialed as a counselling therapist, a Tarot or Reiki session with Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki is not counselling, psychotherapy, psychological assessment, mental health treatment, or a therapeutic relationship.

Booking or participating in a Tarot or Reiki session does not establish a therapist-client relationship with me.

I do not provide psychotherapy or clinical mental health services through Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki. I also don’t provide paid tarot readings to your current counselling therapy clients.

If you are looking for counselling or psychotherapy, please use my separate professional counselling practice and its applicable intake and informed-consent process.

3. Not Medical, Mental Health, Legal or Financial Advice

Services and information provided through Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki are not substitutes for qualified medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, or other regulated professional advice.

I do not diagnose medical or mental health conditions, recommend changes to medication or medical treatment, provide legal advice, or make financial or investment decisions on your behalf through these services.

You are responsible for making your own decisions and for consulting appropriately qualified professionals when needed.

If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis or healthcare service in your location.

4. Personal Responsibility and Decision-Making

Tarot readings and Reiki sessions are intended to provide a space for reflection and exploration.

You remain responsible for your own choices, actions, relationships, finances, health decisions, career decisions, and other life decisions following a session.

Information or impressions arising during a reading should be considered alongside your own judgment, circumstances, values, and any appropriate professional advice.

No statement made during a Tarot or Reiki session should be interpreted as a guarantee of a particular outcome.

5. Age Requirement

Services are intended for adults aged 18 and older.

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue a booking where I believe the service is inappropriate, outside the intended scope of Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki, or cannot be provided responsibly.

6. Booking and Payment

Appointments are booked through the booking system provided on the Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki website or through another method specifically arranged with me.

All prices are listed and charged in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.

Payment is due according to the instructions provided at the time of booking.

A booking is not considered confirmed until the applicable booking process has been completed.

7. Cancellation and Rescheduling

I understand that plans sometimes change.

Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled without penalty when at least 24 hours' notice is provided.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice and missed appointments may be non-refundable.

If you arrive late, the session will normally still end at the originally scheduled time so that subsequent appointments are not affected.

If I need to cancel a session, you will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund of any payment made for that session.

Exceptions may be considered at my discretion in unusual or emergency circumstances.

8. Refunds

Because Tarot and Reiki appointments involve reserving a specific period of time, completed sessions are non-refundable.

Dissatisfaction with the message, interpretation, cards drawn, intuitive information received, or subjective experience of a session does not in itself create an entitlement to a refund.

Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

9. Online and Distance Sessions

Services may be provided remotely through video, telephone, or other electronic methods.

You are responsible for having a suitable device, internet or telephone connection, and a reasonably private environment for your session.

Although reasonable efforts will be made to address technical difficulties, uninterrupted electronic communication cannot be guaranteed.

If a significant technical problem prevents a session from taking place, we will make reasonable arrangements to reconnect, reschedule, or otherwise address the interrupted appointment.

Distance Reiki does not require the practitioner and recipient to be physically present in the same location.

10. Tarot Spread Photos and Session Materials

When applicable, I may provide you with a photograph of your Tarot or oracle-card spread following the session.

These photographs and any related notes or materials are provided for your personal use and reflection.

You are welcome to keep and privately share your own reading materials. Original written materials, educational content, branding, website content, or other proprietary materials created by Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki remain my intellectual property unless otherwise stated.

11. Recording Sessions

Audio or video recording of a session is not permitted unless we have discussed and agreed to it in advance.

You are welcome to take personal notes during your session.

12. Privacy

Personal information collected when you inquire about or book a service is handled in accordance with the Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki Privacy Policy and applicable privacy requirements.

Information may be collected through third-party services such as website hosting, appointment scheduling, videoconferencing, email, and payment-processing platforms. These providers have their own privacy policies and terms.

Please avoid sending highly sensitive medical, psychological, financial, legal, or other confidential information through ordinary email or website forms.

13. Confidentiality and Legal Obligations

I treat information shared during a Tarot or Reiki session with respect and discretion.

However, these services do not carry the same professional confidentiality framework as a formal psychotherapy relationship.

There may also be circumstances in which I am legally required to disclose or report information. Nothing in these Terms prevents me from complying with an obligation imposed by applicable law.

14. Respectful Conduct and Professional Boundaries

Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki aims to provide a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment.

Harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, sexual harassment, aggressive behaviour, or other conduct that compromises safety or appropriate professional boundaries will not be accepted.

I reserve the right to end or decline a session where conduct is inappropriate, unsafe, abusive, or substantially outside the scope of the service.

15. Scope and Right to Decline a Reading

I may decline to answer or explore a question that I believe is inappropriate for the scope of Tarot or Reiki services.

This may include situations where a request would require medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other regulated professional advice, or where I believe proceeding would be inappropriate or potentially harmful.

When possible, I may invite you to reframe the question toward your own reflection, choices, values, or actions.

16. Third-Party Platforms

Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki may use third-party services for website hosting, scheduling, payment processing, video communication, email, or other administrative purposes.

These services operate independently and are subject to their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, and availability.

Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki is not responsible for outages or circumstances outside its reasonable control involving third-party services.

17. Website and Educational Content

Information provided on the Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki website, social-media accounts, emails, or other public materials is for general informational, spiritual, and educational purposes.

Viewing or interacting with this content does not create a professional relationship and should not be considered individualized advice.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Deep Waters Tarot & Reiki is not responsible for losses arising from decisions or actions taken solely on the basis of a Tarot reading, Reiki session, website content, or other general spiritual or reflective information.

You remain responsible for your own decisions and for obtaining appropriate professional assistance when required.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

19. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes in services, technology, business practices, or applicable requirements.

The date at the top of this page identifies the most recent version.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada, without limiting any rights that may apply under other applicable law.
